Click to see ABOUT PETERBOROUGH MODEL FLYING CLUB PMFC was formed in 1938 and is one of the oldest and most successful model flying clubs in the country with a history of innovating new and successful control line and free flight events. PMFC is a multi discipline club with flying sites for free flight, control line and radio control (although we are not a predominantly radio club). Members of PMFC are a group of like-minded people who enjoy the challenge of building and successfully flying miniature aircraft, whether it be for fun, in low key club competitions, or in national or even international events. Above all we fly for enjoyment in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and our members are all more than happy to offer the benefit of their experience and knowledge to others, whether a beginner or a seasoned old campaigner - you never stop learning with aeromodelling! Control line models are flown at The Embankment, Peterborough and, during the summer months, we meet weekly on Friday evenings at Ferry Meadows for free flight models. Sadly I/C models are not permitted at this site. During the winter months we organise several indoor flying evenings and have weekly `natter nights' at the Peakirk Village Hall, Peakirk from 8pm until 10pm. PMFC is affiliated to the national body representing aeromodelling in the UK, The British Model Flying Association (BMFA). The BMFA, with around 37,000 members, offers not only a national voice to support our aims, but also the organisational infrastructure for competitions and most importantly, comprehensive third party insurance cover for all members. Membership of the BMFA is a condition of membership of PMFC - one of the very few conditions we have! |
